It has not been said, but at this point they could come back at 5 and if they win 2 immunities...they are in the final 3.

We've thought that in the past and instead we've had juries that were poisoned by spending time together at Ponderosa. I'm hoping that the RI experiment will have tempered some of the bitchiness that has been created at Ponderosa for the last several seasons. It seems that recent juries have had no respect for the moves a player has to make to get to the finals, and instead focus solely on how they were screwed over by being voted out.
The next TC WILL have five people in it. It's going to be the most crucial vote of the game, IMO. The player will return from RI and will become an immediate swing vote. Will Natalie and Ashley pull that RI player in and form an alliance to get to the final three? With Rob and Phillip be able to persuade that person to vote with them? Or will Rob, Phillip, Natalie and Ashley stay tight and just vote that person right back out? Or maybe Grant wins and comes back and Rob is able to convince him that it was his plan all along to have Grant go to RI and win his way back in order to eliminate the element of the unknown from RI.
That's exactly what I said to my wife.
I'm fairly certain there will be two TCs after the RI player comes back, but it's not a lock that the RI player would have to win immunity. As I said above, if the tribe splits and one side can pull in the RI player as a swing vote, they could get to the finals without winning either IC.

I'm definitely rooting for Rob and I definitely don't want one of the RI players to win or even get into the finals, but whatever happens, Sunday should be an epic episode. I can't wait.

It would be hilarious if Matt won the RI duel, came back, and immediately got voted out for the third time. :D But I bet that doesn't happen.

If I could script what happens on Sunday, this would be exactly what happens. But unfortunately, with Mike and Grant also at RI, I think the chances of Matt winning what is sure to be an epic "duel" are pretty slim.

I love that Ralph wouldn't let her share the bed. And the toilet paper comment.

Does Grant know for sure that Rob voted for him? He could have let the other 3 do it and done a throw away vote. I assume he did, but I didn't see them show it at the end.

I would be cool if he sent Natalie out to get a vote against him going and then used the idol to get rid of whoever he wanted. ;)

Everyone, especially the players, know that Jeff reads as many votes as he can before it's inevitable. Since there was only one vote for Natalie read, and three for Grant, we know that the 4th one left in the urn was also for Grant.

When Jeff goes back to "tally the votes," what is really happening is the producers are arranging the votes in the urn so that Jeff will pull them and they'll be read in the most dramatic order. If there had been a 2nd vote for Natalie, or a vote for someone else (Phillip or Rob), they definitely would have shown that, as it would have increased the drama. When all the votes are not read, we know that's because the extra votes are for the person eliminated, and those votes would not have mattered.

Actually I think it's that way by design, because in certain circumstances the players need to know how many votes have been made against them in past TCs. I think it's a tiebreaker in a certain scenario.

In the early seasons, the number of previous votes cast against a player was used as a tiebreaker, but I'm pretty sure that rule was abandoned long ago. We've seen at least two other tiebreaker procedures since that was used (purple rock of death, firemaking challenge).

not to mention that by this time, it's easy for them to recognize hand writing...especially guys vs gals

Yes, but not knowing who the last vote is for IS the drama. I always thought they just read as many as necessary (and probably picked which votes for which people to show because of the handwriting issue) to get a winner in order to leave as much mystery as possible. So in this case they can't be sure who Rob voted for if his vote wasn't read. I guess I misunderstood it.

The votes are read to create the most drama for us (the audience) not the contestants. DevdogAZ is absolutely correct.

Well, he did well on two of those three, if you turn your head and look at it at an angle.

I don't get this. Why would they be pissed? Why would anyone expect him to share that information? That would just add a lot of drama where there didn't need to be any. It's not like anyone still there (except Ashley but she doesn't know that, for sure) was ever in any real danger where they needed the HII. Rob can say he didn't want to rile things up when they were going so well, and that he'd have offered it if any of his group needed it.

Based on Grant's exit interview he doesn't realize it, for sure. Yet, anyway.

I can see how him playing the HII without ever telling anyone that he had it might make them realize (what they should have already realized) that he's playing 100% for himself and not for the people in his alliance. Upon realizing that, they may turn on him.
    What did he say? Link?

In addition, I think they also ensure that the first votes we see pulled are ones that were shown to us during the voting process.
