Ozzy is a terrible player. He can dominate challenges, but he has -zero- strategic thinking skills. He consistently makes bone-headed moves, says the wrong thing at the wrong time, doesn't truly understand alliances, etc. Because he is such a strong challenge opponent, and because he has screwed up his alliances, he will be voted off soon. Bank on it. Coach is much better at playing the game. BRob is one of the best.

Ozzy at the Redemption duel was a perfect example. He so overplayed their trick that the other tribe was onto it before he even finished his rant.

I missed this (I've been speeding thru Survivor lately due to a glut of Wed programs to watch). Very disappointed. Enough is enough--they're voted off, let them go.:thumbsdown:

I LOVED Jeff's response to that. He stood there speechless starting at Ozzy. Priceless.

Yeah, Coach was pretty clear when talking to Cochran that they weren't giving up any info. I'm sure he played it that way. Promise Cochran a home, but don't give him anything that could turn it around. Coach kept the power.

Cochran didn't flip on the initial vote because of the immunity idols. If one of the people who received votes had played an idol, there would have been a resolution without a flip, which was preferable.

I think Cochran flipped on the second vote strictly because Keith received the votes. Keith has been a jock-ish ******* ******** bully to Cochran, and Cochran saw his chance to get rid of him.

Yes, he is smart, and yes, he knows this game. But lots of smart people have lost because they were unlikable, as Cochran is in this game. I think Cochran was toast regardless of his choice last night.

That said, I think it was a mistake. Better he play the tribal odds and stick with his team, focus on getting the "power players" (which always translates into "athletic players") voted out, then wait for the right time to team up with Brandon, Edna, and Dawn to "change the game".

But now his un-likability is cemented for his former team.

What do you think Cochran meant when he said "I swapped. I’ll explain it" to Ozzie at the end. I think it was before Jim called him a coward.

I think he was so convincing that is the reason Cochran flipped. :D

As previously said, if Dawn hadn't won immunity her stance wouldn't have changed.

Why in the world did Ozzy give the HII to Whitney? They wouldn't have voted her off first, obviously they were going to vote for Keith.

Also, why did they vote for Rick? He is no threat to win immunity.

In Ozzy's little mind he figured the thinking on the other trible would be "Ozzy's tribe thinks we will vote for Keith or Jim and Ozzy will flip the II to one of them so let's vote for Whitney instead". That's why he gave it to Whitney. Of course he has a hard time thinking strategy in the first place let alone trying to figure out the other tribe's strategy.

Same reason both ways. You're trying to outguess your opponent.

If you have a HII to protect a player, who do you protect? The person the other tribe would vote out if you didn't have an idol? But they're probably going to protect their strongest player. The last thing you want is to select the protected person. So you pick one that is unlikely to get protected to ensure you get one of theirs out. It's more important to get one of them, than which one you get.

Of course, with both sides thinking about the strategy, do you counter by protecting the less obvious choice? Like they did with Whitney? Then it's just a guessing game. There's no right or wrong except in hindsight.

yeah...I don't really understand the logic of giving the II to Whitney and not Keith. I thought Keith would be the no-brainer to vote out.

They out-thought themselves. From their POV (Ozzy's tribe), they were thinking about who would be safe if they drew rocks. They wanted coach and Alpert in that population to draw rocks so they had a chance at being sent home. Gets rid of a possible immunity threat. They then thought that Coach's tribe would think the same way and therefore they would NOT be voting for Jim or Keith. Thus, they kind of figured it would be between Cochran and Whitney. It's a decent thought process, just didn't really work out.
