Suggestions stopped recording

    I have a Roamio pro using the SD menus and a cable card. It has always recorded suggestions. If it matters, we have a mini connected via MOCA which works fine.

    Two days ago it stopped recording suggestions. I checked every setting and everything is as it was. Power saving was on manual and suggestion recording was on. Scheduled recordings are working fine.

    Any idea what may be going on?

    Roamios do not have SD menus.

    Thank you, but my error doesn’t help me figure out why it stopped recording suggestions.

    How often do you restart the box? I restart everything on the last day of the month.

    Not very often. But I did restart it tonight. Still nothing.

    it’s also only 50% full.

    I’m going to try turning off suggestions, restarting, turning them on, and restarting again.

    it’s very strange that they just stopped

    Kill off some programs in the recently deleted folder. It's just a guess.

    I got rid of about 150. I also removed KUID from about 50 shows. Still no luck.

    I’m on the phone with support now. Seems the rep I have doesn’t understand the difference between to do and suggestions.

    I suggest you don't call support. It has caused brain damage in others. :)

    Oh god yes it did. 45 minutes on the phone with a clueless person and my asking to escalate 4x before I got a supervisor who told me to do a guided setup. At least he acknowledged I was a longtime user and knew what I was talking about and that I had tried everything else.

    His second suggestion was to go to the new experience to see if that would work. He also noted in the file the next step would be to escalate to engineering.

    Note if you switch to the new GUI you cannot go back without losing all your recordings.

    Suggestions in the NEW Experience don't work the same as in the old (thumbs up/down).

    Followup...

    After:
    -restarting countless times, including turning suggestions of and on and restarting
    -deleting about 150 items in the deleted items folder
    -cleaning out old season passes
    -spending an hour on the phone with tech support (a supervisor - I had to blow my stack to get to talk to one)
    -and doing a system refresh for guide data, etc (no deletions of anything)
    -waiting about 12 hours

    We finally got 3 suggestions this morning when we looked. The first recorded just after midnight.

    I don't know which of the above helped the situation, but it is now working again (fingers crossed).

    I really wish we were able to see the suggestions list again.
