Maybe I'm missing this crap as I use favorite channels and don't view all.....

Update: Support ticket got closed. Was told in email that they cannot remove Tivo+ because it is part of thier new streaming services. Said they will pass along my comments and concerns to a higher tier.

I call BS cause last week it was only an APP, with a permanent home shortcut. (before that it didn't even exist) Then I received an update and it became integrated into my guide, with no way to hide or remove it.

Interesting, if that logo is not part of the favorites just the all channels, I will make the two lists the same and get rid of the Tivo+ by viewing the favorites.

Update: That did not work :)

No, the HATED commercial line in Guide that takes away needed space for more channels on the screen is STILL THERE when guide is set to favorites in TE4.

TiVo/Bad_Rovi suckage is growing every day!

That explains why I have never seen it. I use Favorites except I switch to My Channels when I need to see something on C-SPAN or my Message channel. BTW, This weekend HBO/MAX are unencrypted.

Of course they can remove it just as easily as they added it, they just don't want to until enough pressure is put on them.

Here is the response I received....

Thank you for contacting TiVo Email Support. We understand that you would like to turn off the TiVo+ banner from your channel guide. Unfortunately, this feature can't be turned off or removed from your TiVo device since it's an added featured service. We would appreciate if you can provide feedback about your TiVo+ experience directly using our website Contact us at TiVo | Customer Support using the send ideas link.

Maybe they will listen if they get enough complaints (wishful thinking, I know). In mine, I just stated that I'd like the Tivo+ banner removed from the guide because I will never click it and it's distracting and takes up valuable space. I also told them the content was terrible, but I'm sure they already know that.

I submitted the idea though I don't expect TiVo to ever deliver it. I wish downgrading to TE3 didn't involve removing recordings.

OK.. Seems making favorites can hide this crap..... No Charge for this fix.

    Enjoy.

UPDATE: WRONG.. Now I can see the crap even with just favorites..... Another reason to dump Tivo.

I don’t think it’s BS, they built it into their guide now. So it’s probably never going away.

If you get to the point, you always can cull your shows down and then transfer them to a PC (shareware pyTiVo Desktop works well for this), sidegrade to TE3, and then transfer the shows back (again via pyTivo Desktop). It can take real time, but the machines are doing the work--you're just queueing up shows periodically and monitoring them as having been done.

Yup..... TE3 may fix it, but at some point TiVo may stop supporting TE3. It's not a big deal to me and I'm fine with TE4 and the added crap to the Guide. It just adds another nail to the TiVo coffin.

    No biggie.....

It’s also clunkier all around. Less legible, And I can’t start the guide at a time and channel of my choosing like I always could before. Every time I look at the guide it looks different, because it’s showing a different time and starting from a different channel. I normally want to start from the start of prime time, from my first favorited channel, but not possible with hydra.

and that’s a separate issue from whatever the OP is talking about with Tivo+, apparently making the guide even worse by inserting fake channels, if I’m understanding right.

no modern Hulu client, and bajillions of missing streaming services, but we do get this nonsense lol

Not expecting a positive result on this, I too have submitted a request to remove or modify TiVo+ from my DVRs. This should be an optional App that we can choose to use or not, and should not clutter up the Guide regardless. This plus the pre-roll Ad issue is making the decision to leave TiVo behind easier. For me at least.

For those saying just use TE3 consider the likely outcome of TiVo either rolling these new ‘features’ out to all devices regardless of your software version, or simply forcing TE4-capable devices to upgrade to the latest ‘OS’ much like other companies do (sunsetting older versions). Pre-roll Ads, TiVo+, who’s to say what other changes might be on the way?

I am so annoyed by this every time I open my guide. I wish Silicon Dust would release their 6 tuner Prime already. I’m ready to dump my TiVo.

Get two 3 tuner Primes. The 6 tuner will never happen. Its imminent release has been dragging on for years.

But you can upgrade from TE3 to TE4 at any time without losing shows.
