    Anyone watching this show?

I can't tell how much "external" help he gets (tools, power, fuel, etc), or "plants" of "obtainium" he gets. Or if it is as genuine as they portray.

I've see three so far: The Hospital, The washer/dryer, and The Suburbs.

He's the founder of The Madagascar Institute -- who made this pretty cool device:

Here a wikipedia page about the show:
    and him:

I didn't realize he was on Junkyard Wars for two years .. I was pretty sure I watched all of those episodes, but I guess not!

Anyway, what do you think of this show?

I've seen the fast food one, the washer/dryer, and the bathroom one.

I wish it was a tad more serious. The crudeness and/or impracticality of the contraptions is played for laughs (and it is kind of funny), but at the end I'm just left thinking what was the point? [Edit: Well, I suppose the point could be to 1) Have fun. And 2) Demonstrate basic systems and principles using found materials, regardless of the long term practicality or usefulness.]

It's a quick watch and is easy to fast forward through, and there is enough cleverness and humor that I'll keep watching.

It makes me miss The Colony.

I watched the fast food episode and the land sailor episode.

I like the concept, but he himself is not all that engaging.

On the fast food episode, did anyone else notice the Wilhelm Scream when he burned his hand welding? You only heard the scream in the previews/bumpers, not the actual event on the show.

I've seen three of them so far and I have to say, it's growing on me. I actually do remember him from Junkyard Wars. He's done some cameos on other science based reality shows too I think. These type of shows are perfect for me to half watch while I'm working on my laptop. "Tanked" and "Junkies" are in a similar vein and I watch those while I'm working too.
