Streaming OnePasses were a great idea that didn't pan out. It worked for me for about a year. Now I'm in the same boat as you - shows just appear in the Now Playing list even if there isn't any new content. Even if something new is added the streaming OnePass doesn't pick it up.

    Oh well.

I am surprised more people aren't talking about this; it has been happening with increasing frequency recently and it's really making streaming bookmarks useless. Maybe everyone else gave up on streaming OnePasses long ago, and I'm the only idiot who persists in trying to get my bookmarks back in sync with my watched content? Aargh. I was hoping I'd find lots of people in the forums complaining about it, and assurances that it was on the priority list to be fixed.

Yes - it's been a problem for a while. It was a great idea but requires ensuring whatever process that syncs with the streaming services continues to work properly. Something that TiVo must not have wanted to continue to invest in. Maybe TiVo+ coming along will help?

Except it is all over their advertising for the Edge. They are still claiming that this works and is perfect for managing all your content, despite the mass failure rate.

@coldtoes, you are not alone; although I do keep a separate Spreadsheet because I can count on a 40% failure rate of some kind.

What is the purpose? Assuming you subscribe to a service, Tivo can't record your show. So is it just a reminder to watch?

Back when (for a short time) it worked, I used it to keep track of what I had watched; it was great. But soon it became unreliable and worthless.

    Long...
Gave up on these things long ago because of this sort of behavior.

When it works, you have a unified playlist that incorporates recordings as well as streaming shows. Playing an episode launches it in the streaming service.

    ^^^^ This

When it works, it is beautiful and creates the single unified entertainment solution. It doesn't work 40% of the time because TiVO/Rovi are terrible at their core competercy: metadata. If they had more people on this their accuracy could easily be 99%. Free services that depend upon users reach this level! That 60% that does work, though, is everything I have ever desired (aside from additional folders and/or profiles to help sort through the massive list).

I gave up on this "feature" and for the most part keep track of progress in the individual streaming apps.

It's a major disappointment that TiVo couldn't get this right (yes I'm aware they didn't promise me this feature when I paid for lifetime and I don't expect a class action suit :D).

It would have helped especially when a long-running show (Midsomer Murders) left Netflix recently - Amazon of course doesn't know what episodes we already watched on Netflix.

We use streaming OnePasses here but I think that I've only had them reset twice and in both cases we were already caught up on the shows so it wasn't hard to "fix". I really like the feature and it's great when the metadata is correct and the new shows show up. :)

Incorrect - they promised it ever since they rolled out the 'One Box' campaign for the Premiere almost 10 years ago. And it mostly worked until Rovi took over and ruined it (along with the guide of course).

It works mostly for me. As long as I wait awhile to watch the shows. The main problem is just the lag in adding new shows. The resets are annoying but easy enough to fix.
