Strange email from TiVo regarding skip mode

    Received an email from TiVo this morning titled "You have SkipMode!", which proceeded to say that SkipMode has come to my TiVo box. Only my Roamio OTA has had this feature since I got it, nearly two years ago. It and a Mini are the only TiVo devices I have.

    Perhaps a records or email goof-up on the Big T's end, perhaps intending to send out the announcement to Premiere box owners, who have just received SkipMode?

    That makes sense… I still think I have some Premieres that show up on my account, even though I sold them long ago…

    Being intended for Premiers was my guess as well. I guess it struck me as strange because it just said "TiVo box" instead of an actual device model.

    I have a Bolt and the Pioneer Series 2.

    I doubt they've added that functionality to the Series 2. Poor thing usually reboots when I try to add a season pass.

    I still have a Premiere on my account so I assumed that's what it was for.

    I received the email too. I have a Bolt and a Roamio on my account.

    I have 2 Premiere's and now want to see if I have skip mode. Never noticed anything in my recorded shows before. I will need to look at the lists.

    I've had every series of Tivo EXCEPT a Premiere and I also received the same email.

    Heavens--it can't be that TiVo's email marketing is less than accurate, could it? ;)

    I got the same email from Tivo too. Deja vu all over again.

    Yeah, I'd have thought they'd want to explicitly emphasize that the feature was coming to the Premiere boxes, to highlight that they were bringing this rather excellent feature to some pretty old boxes.

    They've only flipped the SkipMode switch on half the Premiere install base (prefixes 748, 750, 758); the other half (746) will supposedly get it starting next Tuesday. (see here)

    Never. :)

    I've had a Series 1 and a Series 3. Never had a Premiere. They probably just sent it to everyone.

    OK...I now see I have it on both of my Premieres. Sad that it does not work with our Mini.

    It should. We certainly have SkipMode available on our Mini's, connected to Roamio Pro host DVRs.

    Maybe a restart of the Mini is in order? SkipMode works just fine on my Mini, hosted by a Roamio OTA.
