Directv will simocast in both SD and HD. HD will be on different Satellites, hence need for 5 LNB dishes.

Some stations listed are the same number, ie 242 for USA, is that HD only?

The HD and SD will both have the same channel number, you can watch or record either one and they will both show up in the guide.

For a short time, the HR20 had an option that allowed you to hide the SD version of HD channels. It disappeared, but may come back again.

Thanks guys, I guess we will wait and see, I have 1 HD (HR20) and three D***TIVOs so hopefully I can use the latter for awhile.

You'll be able to use your sd dtivos for quite some time. Directv isn't planning on shutting down mpeg 2 sd any time soon.
