    Did anyone see this?
Jack White (famous rock star) looked like he was taking Colbert's character very seriously. I expected him to be funny and relaxed, but he looked like an unsuspecting Congressman.
I imagine though, no matter how funny you are, since Colbert won't break character, it's hard to know how to respond.

I lasted about 30 seconds with that interview. I ffwd'd through it as soon as I realized it was going to be like Colbert's Better Know A District.

I wouldn't call Jack White a famous rock star. And I doubt half of the rock stars, famous or not, have a clue who Colbert is.

What's your definition of "famous"? He's not as famous as, for example, Paul McCartney -- but McCartney has 40 years on him. Jack White was the "face" of a unique-looking/unique-sounding rock duo that released a number of critically-acclaimed, best-selling albums during the first decade of the 2000s; I'd say he's one of the most famous rock stars who's come to prominence within the last 10 years.

He was famous enough to play himself on The Simpsons. That's where I know him from.

I know Stephen didn't write it, but with his voice and being backup by the The Black Belles... Very good song.

I thought his body language looked very uncomfortable.

He was playing the part. The times where he was smiling/smirking were when he was having trouble staying "in character". That was my read anyway.

    Salt Lake...
Davis Guggenheim thinks Jack White is on par with Jimmy Page and The Edge.

EDIT BTW, if any Salt Lakers are reading this, the Sundance Institute is having a free screening of the film at the Red Butte Ampitheater this Wednesday night (6/29) at 9.

Famous like ask 20 people on the street and see if 5 know who he is or have even heard of him. 2 platinum records doesn't make a guy famous. Neither does being critically acclaimed.

Is Mike Shinoda a famous rock star? He's sold 10 times the number of records Jack White has.

"It Might Get Loud" is a wonderful film- I enjoyed the heck out of it.
If guitars or guitarists (or Zeppelin history) interest you in the least, check it out.
And watch all the way through the credits.

It's pointless to argue 'who is a rock star' on TCF. The vast, vast majority of the people here only listen to stuff released 20-40 years ago.
