but the way (Evil) Mitchell responded to Mitchell was "if" the Wraith comeback to Atlantis, "If" the Wraith attack Earth. I don't think the Evil SG team was necessarily sacrificing this Earth but I will grant they weren't helping us either.

And that's where this episode broke down for me. Presumably, they were just shooting for another reality with a ZPM, they didn't know which one they would get. But the Evil SG team sure new a lot about our timeline and I doubt they were given access to our computers to peek around (well they were to find the old SG-1 Mission reports). Hmm. I dunno, it just seems so haphazard.

The Evil SG team's Earth must be really in danger for such a sloppy plan. :)

Kurt Russell, James Spader, and the actor who played Kawalski in the movie would have been very amusing.

BTW...when black uniform Mitchell said "when the time comes, cut the green wire" to olive drab uniform Mitchell, he had a devilish smirk on his face. Is he setting him up for a disaster or genuinely helping him out? ... hmmmm....

and you've got to wonder whether Mitchell will believe him or second guess himself.

But to me that seems like information that would be in the future which doesn't follow the parallel universe idea (that each reality is at the same time, just different things have changed).

This was one of those "popcorn" episodes that are real fun to watch, but don't really hold up to scrutiny.

It's hard not to like an episode with a whole collection of copies of this guy:

My wife was livid that they never said who Samantha had married. And "our" Sam only seemed vaguely interested, which she thought was unbelievable.

I thought the Asgard telling the SGC that they had to return the weapon when they were done with it, because it was only on loan, was perfectly placed. Part of the time I wasn't sure if this episode was a drama or a comedy.

Ok, they reversed the direction of the "bridge" so they could send all the others teams home. Got that, made some sense. But I don't remember anyone saying anything about how to destroy the "bridge". Are they going to have to gate around the blackhole from now on?

I kind of assumed it was either Pete or Jack. "Our" Sam was only vaguely interested, I think, because she's finally got her head on straight as to where her feelings are pointed, and isn't interested in other 'possibilities' or 'excuses', like she used to be.

Of course, I base that only on the fact that she went fishing, for the first time in 8 years..so I could be way off base :D

As already mentioned, SG-1's plan was to go back in time and get a ZPM. Unfortunately, the first team didn't make it back and ended up spawning a second timeline. The SG-1 from that timeline ended up having to go back in time to restore the timeline. They succeeded in restoring the timeline to, for all intents and purposes, what the first timeline was, and gave the SG-1 from the third timeline a ZPM.

So, while our SG-1 didn't travel to another universe, they did create two new ones! (Unless you think all possible universes already exist, but that's another issue.) Although, one might argue that our SG-1 is actually the third SG-1, in which case, they didn't have to do anything!

They already knew how to destroy it since that's what they were originally going to do before Dark SG-1 took over the ship.

Events could happen at different times in different universes. Even if another universe had similar, or even identical, events, that universe could be "ahead" of ours as far as events are concerned.
