I suppose the whole purpose of this episode was to establish that the Replicators could be harmless to humans now and that it might be possible to mount an exploratory mission to their homeworld.

Otherwise it was a throwaway whose main purpose might've been to save on the FX budget. :)

It took me almost 1/2 the episode to realize the guy I recognized is "The Chairman" from Iron Chef America. I don't think I'd seen him in anything else, at least not in the last decade, so I was having a hard time placing him.

    Today's secret ingredient is... Ronon!!

I knew the only possible resolutions for this episode were either his friends dying or betraying him. We got a little of both. I usually like the Ronon-based episodes, but this one was meh.

Seeing Teal'c was good. Made me miss SG-1 all over again!!

I don't know that I would call it a total throw away episode. Probably the most important thing about it was that Carter was introduce as the new base commander. It was interesting to see Carter go out on a mission like that. I wonder how many times she's going to be able to get away with that before someone tells her she can't anymore.

I need to pad this show as it started about 1 minute late. Anything important happen after Ronon said "let's go home"?

Ugh. My dish is apparently falling further and further out of alignment. What used to just be an AM only problem is now bad enough that my recording of this episode was utterly worthless. Is there anyplace I can view it / download it online?

I noticed that my episode was off as well. I watched it nearly close to it's live recording so I was still able to catch the last few minutes. I think SciFi was off. I'm padding my season pass.

A convenient way to get the character onto the show full-time, but I kept being distracted by trying to remember what management experience Carter has ever had. She never (rarely?) led an SG-1 team, much less run an entire base (city), no?

Wow. This was my first HD episode of Atlantis. It sure looks purdy!

No - Rodney was rattling on about the skills the leader would need. I don't remember all of them, but one was 'an expert on ancients', and I was thinking - that'd be Daniel, not Sam.

Of course, Dr Weir's skill base was as a negotiator, not a governor, either, so who knows what's going through the minds of the IOA anyway.

    Miles away...
It was actually "an expert on Ancient technology." I think Sam might qualify, though she really doesn't have as much experience with it as Rodney.

Besides, she's a lot hotter than he is.

And let's face it, nobody is going to put Rodney in charge of anything.

    Except maybe the Rodney fan-club...

Sam was the commander of SG-1 for at least a year (after "Sir" became a General). The period during which they were a trio, and finally decided there was no rule that said they HAD to find a 4th member?

The only reason that Cam Mitchell became the commander was that Sam moved on to work at Area 51, and Mitchell was given SG-1...which he then had to re-create since both Daniel and T'ealc had also moved on.

When Sam rejoined SG-1, Cam was still the commander, but before him and after Jack, Sam was in charage.

Doh! So that's where I knew him from ... that was really bugging me.

So I guess this means Iron Chef America isn't real?

Finally watched this episode last night. I thought it was a big bag of suck, but I was expecting that since it was a Ronon episode. Even Rodney episodes are better than Ronon episodes.

Was Amanda Tapping pregnant when these episodes were shot? She was a bit big around the tummy, especially in side profile shots.

Ronan's friends were supposedly Wraith sympathizers. If that's the case, why did they still kill a bunch of them right up front?

Oh, and did they ever complete their mission? The head wraith looks like he got away (or did he?) And so did the replicator. They didn't blow anything up as fas as I could tell.

Since the Replicator hadn't been reprogrammed he's on a mission to kill wraith. Unless he runs up against someone who knows how to freeze him in a force field like we first saw him he's liable to go ripping through the Wraith base like a fox in a hen house.

I was left with the impression that the Wraith and Replicators are going to go off having their hands full with each other for a while. The only reason the Wraith messed with the Atlantis group this week was as a way to get the Replicators off their back.

Same here. Can anyone recap? I know I'm also going to need next week's too - maybe I can luck out and it's already recapped in that thread!
