I don't think we have a lot of backstory filled in yet, but yes, I think that Jana/Sutra were one set of twins (with the gold skin and yellow eyes like data) and Dahj/Soji are another, later set of twins.

This is conjecture, but I think Soong made Jana/Sutra himself, and then with Maddox's help made Dahj/Soji (since Maddox is supposedly better with bodies)

Somehow I think Sutra is not what she appears to be. Synthetic doing a mind meld? Releasing Narek? Smells more like a Vulcan/Romulan than a synthetic. Anyone can apply makeup/contacts and say "You know, I'll know if you're lying." I'm probably wrong but that mind meld just doesn't make sense.

It's got to be Lore. It just cannot be coincidence that his initials are Alton Inigo Soong (AI Soong), right?

No, that's a better explanation for the Mind Meld than what was presented in the episode. Of course that's just as absurd, as one would have assumed a colony of Synths would have noticed an organic in their midst before now, but that's the risk you run when you make synthetics indistinguishable from humans.

This series has been 100% fan service, I will be shocked if AI Soong is not Lore and the golem doesn't become Data.

I am okay with fan service... I wish they gave us just a hint of fan service in the final season of GoT... :(

I'm still thinking that both the Zhat Vash and Sutra have misinterpreted the message from the Admonition.

Either that or it was left by the Shadows from Babylon 5.

(And is Vash a member of the Zhat Vash?)

Yeah, it reminds me of that famous Greek Oracle prophecy "You will go you will return never in war will you perish," which can have opposite meanings depending on where you place the comma. I suspect the Zhat Vash have been putting the comma in the wrong place all these generations, and are going to end up feeling really silly. ;)

Not just fake aging, it'd have to be skin and eye color change. Lore looked just like Data. Now, perhaps Maddox created a more advanced body for Lore, and to give cover made it older. Also, it would make sense that they're using Lore's neurons and not Data's, since Data got blown to bits, but Lore was merely disassembled.

The mind meld bothered me too. My impression was that this was a physical trait, not just something anyone could learn, like the neck pinch or something.

The neck pinch might not be a good comparison, since over various Trek shows we've seen at least Data and the EMH do the pinch.

I don't think we've seen a non vulcan perform a meld, but we've seen all sorts of stuff, including machines, on the receiving end.

That's what I mean. Others can learn the pinch. But the meld would require a Vulcan/Romulan.

Motivation wise, I like the notion that the evil synth leader is actually born of Lore's neurons, motivationally that would make perfect sense. Doesn't really help with the mind meld bit, but Lore would absolutely align himself with a unseen evil synth overlord that wants to wipe out all organic life, in fact he's already done it at least twice...
