I swore I would never even consider subscribing to CBS All Access. Period. Even after seeing the first trailer for Picard, I was unimpressed. Two nights ago I saw the second trailer. To paraphrase Charlton Heston, "damn you all to hell", I may actually have to subscribe to see this one.

I have no problem with the $6 a month. All things Star Trek will always be something I am willing to pay for. I have enjoyed Discovery and am certain Patrick Stewart will not associate himself with anything but a quality product.

JMO but "The Kid Who Would Be King" seems to contradict your assertion. I'm sure there are others.

Yeah, not for me. Just slapping the label on something doesn't do it for me. I grew bored with DS9, couldn't get interested in Voyager, and despised Enterprise. Even the theme for that one made me cringe. I've had zero interest in watching Discovery, and even should I decide to subscribe long enough to watch Picard, I still won't watch Discovery.

I had hope for new Trek in '09 when they rebooted the TOS characters, because Star Trek was awesome. I've watched it many time, and always have enjoyed it. Those hopes were dashed with the two subsequent installments, which were complete trash.

I agree that $6 isn't much, but it's more an issue of paying an additional $6 for another service when I'm already paying for Netflix, Hulu Live, and Prime. All Access will definitely be short term.

Not sure if Q fits in with the type of show that it sounds like ST: Picard is. Plus, it'd require quite a bit to explain how a "god" visibly ages.

Oh I know. I just really like the character. But I agree with you.

I just hope that the characters who show up make sense for the story. I don't want a parade of TNG characters just for the sake of seeing them again.

That's where I'm leaning. Q and de Lancie are both awesome, but I'm not sure it would work here.
