Will splitting the SAT cable signal into two DirecTV boxes work? Both boxes are active on my account. One is a TIVO R10 and the other a regular DirecTV box.

You need a Multi-switch in order to split between two receivers. A regular cable splitter will not allow the boxes to switch to separate LNBs.

Also, the R10 is not a TiVo...it's DirecTV DVR...you should really go to DBSTalk to post questions like this.

You CANNOT split a Sat Cable like you can a Cable one period. This question gets asked atleast 2 times a Week.

Get a Splitter as ke3ju has said, and run multiple cables to each unit.

Directv has been working on a Solution and it is currently being Field Tested. With luck it will be available soon. For further information go over to the DBS Forums.

BUT: The Directv R10 is not a Tivo as already pointed out, it is NOT a Directv DVR, it is in fact a Directv/Tivo Combination all in One unit. :D And it is perfectly fine to discuss it at this Forum. The Best place would be in the Directv with Tivo Forum.

Um, the R10 is a TiVo. The R15 and HR20 are not TiVos.

    Potato and pen.

Also, this is NOT a TiVo question at all, but is a satellite service question.

If anything, it might be better asked in one of the DirecTiVo forums, not the TiVo help forum.
