Figure if S1 has a season thread why not this 6-episode season.

    Episode 2 "Missio"

Another great episode. Batiatus killed two birds with one stone. Got his (partial) revenge and his man in the games.

The "slaves as porn" was pretty sad as was the crowning of the new Doctore.

One quibble. The dialogue is making me mental. I don't remember them speaking like Yoda so much last season.

I would rather see individual episode threads. I wasn't able to catch Spartacus "live," but I went back and watched it on Netflix/Starz Play, and thus wasn't able to read the thread if I wanted to avoid being spoiled.

Both episodes have been excellent...I'm just heartbroken to find out that this is only a 6-episode season :(

It's not really a season (Season 2 will be next year); it's more like a fill-in mini-series to lessen the gap caused by Whitfield's cancer. It doesn't even have the same name as the regular show.

Hmmm, didn't think BatiatusÂ’ father was even alive. Still, it will be interesting to see how he becomes the true Dominus. Lucretia seems to have a played in part in that. Or does she?

I'm really liking Crixus' transformation. He still has a long way to go. As does the new Doctore. It's too bad there's only 3 episodes left. Although it doesn't feel rushed, I would have liked a more gradual storyline.

Jr. said something about him being retired in warmer climes in the first episode. I got the impression that Daddy had one foot in the grave, but I guess Jr. underestimated the old goat.

I had trouble making out the dialogue in the last speech. Did Daddy say "I'm tired of living, son. Could you please kill me?"

    :D

This episode was just available for streaming on Netflix.
Three episodes? That's all? I am totally crushing on Lucretia, evil as she is.

I'll try to watch Rob, as I am watching it for the first time now.

For some reason I'm not able to stream it on the Wii. It works fine on the computer, but it would have been nice to watch it on the TV.

Crixus is the man... the naked man, but the man, nonetheless.

    Glad it's not just me.

They probably haven't gotten the Wii version encoded yet.

I did not expect this (prequel) season to be any good, but boy was I wrong! My only quibble was with how quickly Tulius' absence was believed. But Solonius' brilliant move made up for it. Acquiring Tullius/Vettius men was one thing but suggesting Gannicus' freedom was a stroke of genius! I fully expected Gannicus to meet his demise in the final battle.

Loved the ending and hopefully we'll see Gannicus meet up with Spartacus in season three. Also liked how they explained Ashur's limp.

Gannicus could be back, but we'll certainly see Vettius again...they clearly foreshadowed it with his threat to return for vengeance on Battiatus once Solonius is dead.

It was fun over the course of this series watching the Blood & Sand people become, well, the Blood & Sand people.

Sometimes in unexpected ways. They certainly faked me out with Lucretia; it looked like she was going to be transformed from a relatively innocent ingenue into the ruthless witch we know and love, and then it turns out last week she was always a ruthless witch, just pretending to be a relatively innocent ingenue. :D

Great conclusion, it's kind of amazing how much they packed in 6 episodes. I like that the show consistently fools me trying to guess what'll happen next.

Good ending - but now we have to wait a whole year for the next installment! :(

Watched it this morning, and after it was over, I was convinced it MUST have been a 2-hour episode. Not that it drug at all, or that it was slow - but that there was SO MUCH packed in that there seemed to be no way they did it in an hour.

Completely blown away. Loved that Lucretia was clearly breathing at the end of the ep with the 'forward-flashback', I'm betting we'll see some eps with Lucy next year.

Really mad that it's going to be at least a year before the next installment.

I suspect you might know this, but historically speaking, Gannicus was a major player in the Third Servile War, along side Spartcus, Crixus and Oenomaus, so we'll definitely see him back.
Season 2 of the original Blood & Sand series is due so return late January 2012 according to this interview BTW.
