OK this a new one on me just looking for some help… while watching live TV I get the blue screen with sorry the recorder must re-acquire and I see the satellite set up screen sometimes it starts at 100% goes down to 80% then acquires back up to 100%… could this be a bad LNB? I have done all the usual unplugging stuff to try and clear this up. Any suggestions are appreciated… I am running a R10 with 6.3e…

I saw this on my unhacked HDVR2 running 6.3e. I was watching live TV on CNN when the recorder went to a TiVo screen with "Satellite Info" at the top. The message indicated something like "Sorry, the recorder must re-acquire the satellite info" before I could watch live TV, but told me I could watch already recorded programs. There was a progress bar at the bottom. Before it reached 100%, it automatically went back to live TV. Both tuners were then on CNN and the buffer was erased on both tuners.

This repeated about 4 or 5 times for me over about 20-30 minutes (alternating from live TV to going back to this TiVo menu about needing to re-acquire the satellite info). Each time it went back to live TV, both turners were on the same channel and the buffers had been erased. It seems to have stopped now and is on live TV again. So I don't know if it finally acquired 100% of what it needed or if the problem has been cleared.

This was a clear day and there was no indication of loss of satellite signal (no searching for satellite).

I've never seen my live TV be interrupted with this kind of TiVo message before. I was not recording anything at the time, but I suspect it would have interrupted any recording.

Same thing here with Hughes GXCEBOTD on 3.5c. With the age of this box I am glad it seems to be a system wide thing. Already had a problem with a tuner this AM just showing a black screen.

I'm not sure if this is at all relevant but I figured I would post my experience of this afternoon.

TiVo flashed the re-acquiring screen several times over the course of about an hour. In between the re-acquire, it would take me back to my normal programming. The last time it flashed the re-acquire screen, it rebooted the box, powered up, re-acquired full data from the satellites and has been fine ever since.

Now when I look at my "Now Playing List" I see the graphical call sign for the channel on the far right instead of just the the text call letters. This may not be new to most of you since I have DirecTV with TiVo so my version of TiVo is way behind the civilized parts of the TiVo community. I haven't poked around much further to see if anything else has changed yet.

I'm not sure what everyone else is experiencing or why but mine looked like a software update. I remember reading some time ago that DirecTiVo was going to have a major update in the beginning of 2008 so this may be the beginning of it.

Wow, I haven’t re-booted… however the whole sorry the recorder must re-acquire thing seems to have stopped… I have never seen the whole “Now when I look at my "Now Playing List" I see the graphical call sign for the channel on the far right instead of just the the text call letters.”

    CENTRAL...
It was a disruption in their satellite system. Called *D and played dumb awhile. But after a few minutes got them to tell me the truth. They said they are still "working" on it.
