    Potato and pen.
What are you trying to get the modem to do in connection with the TiVo? I think that's the first thing people would need to know.

If you are looking to connect your TiVo to a broadband source, the SVR-2000 (like any other S1 TiVo) is not set up for networking without modifications.

If you are trying to connect your TiVo to a digital cable BOX (not modem) so that it can record digital cable channels, hook up the IN ports on your TiVo to the OUT ports on the cable box. If the cable box has a serial port, connect this to the back of the TiVo using the correct cable; if no serial port, then you will need to use the IR blaster cable with the "blasters" aimed at the cable box's IR receiver window. Re-run Guided Setup.

Use the AV in (yellow, red, and white wires) and run guided setup for a motorola cable box using an IR blaster.
