There isn't a local police force anymore. Law enforcement was taken over by the county. I guess his function is to provide trucks from time to time :)

and BATFA will be notified of your purchase, and if you have a record/history of gang activity, guess who might be interested in what you are doing? not to mention it might be against their parole rules to even own a gun!

I don't think it's a question of forcing him to stay. I think it's an ethos that there's only one way out, and packing up the wife and kids & leaving town ain't it.

    When you're a Jet,
You're a Jet all the way
    From your first cigarette
    To your last dyin' day.
Just out of curiosity, do you have me on ignore? :D

I thought I heard someone say that they shaved him (meaning a haircut). Did they really mention repeated stabbing or is this just an assumption?

You may have noticed the scars on his abdomen this episode (which by an astonishing coincidence are quite similar to the pattern granted to the Russian guy by Jax)...

The word you're looking for may be "shivved".

Yeah it was "shivved". They made a point of showing the scars on Jax.

I'll admit that it seemed like pretty harsh payback for shaving someone's head but I can't be the only one that misheard "shivved" for "shaved."

Nope, you were the only one! :)

Actually, it was tough to hear, but in the context of them being in prison, I figured it out.

I wonder if this incident will change the mindset of those in SAMCRO that didn't want to be involved with the cartel. Seems like a good idea to stay on their good side.

It would be better...MUCH better...to be completely off their radar. But of course that ship has sailed, so now it's just a matter of trying desperately to please them until they can't any more, and then try desperately not to die too much.

Getting involved with the Colombians is the kind of decision that will probably lead to the demise of the club as an independent outfit. Unless something televisiony happens to save them. :D

I love how this season is shaping up so far--definitely back to the roots. I didn't hate last season like a lot of people did but there was definitely a big chunk in there that leaned more towards being a daytime soap... they're setting up some good conflict for this season which lends itself towards gun fights, explosions, wars, and never-ending carnage. Yay!

That's what so good about it. Jax was planning on biding his time until he could escape and knew they'd have to be "on the run" when they did. Then Clay presented him with an opportunity by asking him to back him on something the club has always stood against, so while any other time he would have said "hell no times infinity", he seized the chance to now have Clay at his mercy to a degree. Given their history, an alliance of this magnitude will be explosive when it finally crashes down. And it will.

The reality is that Clay is ruining the club but doesn't seem to know it. He thinks they can sign on and do the drug running just long enough for him to build up his 401k and then they can bow out, but I think it's gonna get clearer as time goes on that this is a deal for life, and will likely bring about the end of the club entirely. This problem won't be solved as easily as their double-cross of the Russians was solved.

That's one of the reasons I like Kurt Sutter's writing so much... I think he does an awesome job at setting up conflicts then rolling them out in an expert way and then when it ends and just about everything falls into place it's like a perfectly mastered puzzle (see: season 2).

Jax knows at least a little about John's history and what he wanted for the club, so he plans to take his family and start over. Despite the objections of his club, Clay gets in bed with guys way beyond what he normally deals with, said guys will likely require more and more of SAMCRO, thus bringing them closer to death or going back to jail.

Meanwhile Gemma knows about the letters and Tara's inquiries and shares it with Wayne, who we find out was the cop who investigated JT's accident, and they keep it from Clay. At the same time, there is a federal RICO investigation going on right under their noses involving not only the club but everyone associated with them, helped by an extremely over-zealous "in over his head even if he doesn't know it yet" sheriff... Not to mention all the other small things like Piney still wanting things to go back to the old way, Opie's fear of going back inside and leaving Lyla with the kids, Gemma's reaction when she finds out A: that Jax wants out and B: that Clay is running drugs now, the idea of losing the town to Hale... the list goes on.

Very happy the show is back, if you can't tell...

I never watched this show until this past summer. And then I breezed through every episode in a couple of weeks. I hate having to wait a week.

That's what happened to me last year. I watched seasons 1 and 2 I think in a little over three weeks and then when three started I was gouging my eyes out. Didn't help that 3 was slightly more boring than the other two, but either way that week in between was rough. I try to hold off on watching new episodes sometimes so that I can watch and then only have a day or two to wait.

I do that with some shows but I like this show too much and have friends that watch so I will always likely watch within 24 hours.

Same. There are a few shows I cannot stand to hold off on. This is once again one of them. Last season, not so much. I had 2-3 saved at a time before I burned through them.
