Software Update for TivoHD

    Finally got my TivoHD hooked up last night and I noticed the software version was 8.1. I followed the instructions on the Tivo site to force a connection with Tivo to download the software upgrade but nothing happened.

    Am I missing something??

    not yet. Is that supposed to initiate the upgrade??

    yes. In the system information screen, you should see 'update pending' as the service call status.

    Yes. In your phone and network settings, if you try to force a connection, the status on the top left should say "pending restart" (if you got the upgrade). Don't force another connection, just restart.

    ok ... I see an "installing service update" message on the boot up screen

    rebooted and now I see "Preparing the service update. This may take up to an hour, possibly longer" ...

    looks like I am on my way

    Just curious as I am having all kinds of issues....but are you now on version 9.2?

    I am actually in the process of getting it right now and it is at the loading stage and it has been a good hour already if not more.

    My other issues were potentially due to a HardDrive issue on the previous unit which I exchanged at Best Buy this morning. It kept rebooting once I had the 9.2 software and am just keeping my fingers crossed that once the load is done all will be ok. However at this point I have little faith.

    Also which unit do you have the TiVO HD?

    Version 9.2a is the latest.

    TivoPony (a TiVo rep) posted a few days ago that a new software update -- possibly 9.3 -- was planned for release in the near future.
