    I vote comedy.

But I hadn't heard about the real-life girls running away to join ISIS, so I simply saw it as a dark spoof of the original Toyota ad. It wasn't until I got to Weekend Update and heard that there actually are young western girls joining ISIS that I understood why they did that ad and at that point it became much funnier to me.

I haven't watched it. Is there anything in there making fun of somebody who was killed by ISIS or anything like that? Or is it just making fun of ISIS and the morons who would join them?

It's just a spoof of the Toyota ad with the dad driving the daughter to the airport. During the ad, you think the daughter is going away to college, but at the end she pulls out a military backpack and that's when you see she's leaving home to join the military.

In the SNL version, it's the same setup, but when they get to the airport, she hops into the back of an ISIS truck, and as it drives away, the men in the back are shouting "Death to America" and firing their guns into the air.

It's exactly as offensive as the old Saddam/Osama phone call sketches SNL used to do. Which is to say, not at all.

So I vote "Funny even if it's not funny."

Kind of like the deflategate skit. ;)

Are ISIS a protected class or something? What's the outrage?

Outrage. Kind of like "I'm not that type of girl" or "How dare you?"

People getting their knickers in a twist over nothing.

Hell no! This music video "Say What You Wanna Say" was hilarious. When the chick in the bathroom gives the other girl a hard time about pooping I almost died laughing...

I have no idea how to do this right but I'll try...

Ironic when the only funny parts of Saturday Night Live are from taped segments that aren't live at all.

They didn't really even make fun of ISIS, just the people who go join them.

Did anyone else have really poor audio when that sketch played on TV? I could hear all the dialogue just fine, but the anthem in the background was just barely a whisper. It was really weird since you could tell from the people's actions that it was supposed to be blaring, but there was something wrong with the sound mix.

Say What You Wanna Say was far funnier than the ISIS one... That part in the restroom was hilarious!

I didn't have any sound issues with it, though - wonder if was affected in certain areas?
