Liked this well enough, highlights for me were the monologue, Mort, the digital short, Fox and Friends, and the Crunk-Ass Easter. Ass Dan LIVES! oh wait, no he doesn't.

Not bad. Carville was especially good.

I always FF through Crunk-Ass and Jean K Jean. Both bore me to tears.

That is very funny - I was about to say - this was a pretty good SNL and Helen Mirren was great. I didn't even hit the fast forward button once until we got to the really bad CARVILLE moment - LOL

Minimal Kristen Weig = good show!
Although even I admit I thought the stewardess on Weekend Update was pretty funny.

    Decent episode.

"Mort Mort Fenigold" is growing on me. This one was funnier than the last one.

"Helen Mirren's *******" was simply so absurd and a little inappropriate that it had me laughing.

Hader's James Carville is the best current running impression on SNL, and was great as usual this time.

Jean K Jean's been better. I usually like him. He was a little off this time.

Foo Fighters were great! Mix could have been better (a chronic SNL problem with the musical guests), but the band itself was excellent. I've observed on this forum before that very often, the SNL musical guest shows up early in the following week on Letterman, giving everyone an opportunity to hear the same performance (usually) with a *good* sound mix for a change.(Letterman's show always does a good job with the musical guest's sound.) In this case, they were on Letterman last Wednesday. Guess I'll have to see if that one's still in my playlist (it should be...).

I didn't care for the first song, but liked the second one. I don't know much of TFF though.

Liked "Helen Mirren's *******", especially when Kristin patted them on the way out!

Other than that, not a strong episode IMHO.

    I liked "The Roosevelts.."

Hitler: But Eleanor, all I want to do is paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaint!!! :p;)

It was over the top but funny.

A few LOL moments for me, I like when Fred Armisen does that stereotypical "Jew" voice...Frank Stein...and his son Igor..."Nice-he's just a kid...":p

Helen Mirren is game for anything, as she proved-reminded me of when Ian McKellen hosted the show. Good for her!:up:

I liked this episode a lot.

The James Carville bit was hilarious. The digital short, Mort Mort, and the Southwest flight attendant I also found funny.

I think I laughed more during this episode than I have in a while. I, as opposed to many here, didn't like the Elton John episode - maybe it was my mood while watching that week.

I thought this was a very good episode, several bits were funny. I always FF through Weekend Update so I missed those if they were better than normal.

This episode was OK. I watched last week's Elton John episode and this week's back-to-back and was definitely more impressed with the Elton John sketches. Foo Fighters were AMAZING, as usual. I also liked the second song better, but, really, anything coming out of Dave Grohl's mouth makes me giddy. :)

I haven't watched much of it yet, but I take it they didn't include Dave Grohl in any of the sketches?

    They should. He's really funny.

He made a very quick cameo in the Digital Short, but didn't have any lines.

Wasn't that him as the 2nd DJ at Bongo strip club?

    Yes.

So, two total (short cameo) appearances, both listed in the thread now. He did have a couple of lines in the strip club sketch.

I think its time to replace Seth Myers on Weekend Update. It was better with Amy Pohler. The dumb grin on his face kind of ruins the jokes.

I did much less fast-forwarding through this episode.

I didn't watch this but for Foo Fighters fans there's a great RocDoc on VH1 that is current. Documentary of the band up through the making of the current album. Sort of like 'Behind the Music'. I caught it last night.

Disagree. I love him on Weekend Update. I don't see anything wrong with him enjoying what he's doing.
