Well, that was the weakest of the season IMHO.

The PGA messages were the best part, and oddly I thought The Wonderful World of Love and Doorbells and More were more funny than not. The rest of the show... meh.

Bon Jovi was horrible - bland songwriting/music.

I was surprised that there was no appearance by Jon Bovi.

I am obviously losing touch with pop culture because this was the second week in a row where I had no clue who the host was, in fact, until he walked onto the stage, I assumed the host was going to be female based upon the name.

Also, he has the weirdest looking nose I've ever seen.

As for the content of the show, it wasn't very good. A "screw it, it's the holidays" phone it in show.

The re-appearance of "Reba" made me laugh though.

Yup, very weak show. Taylor what's-his-name seemed willing and capable, but overall the material just wasn't there. Can we have Taylor Swift back? I think her show was the highlight of the season. I'd like to see her come back periodically like Justin Timberlake.

I agree. Weakest show this season.

"Can't keep a secret Sue" is yet another Kristin Wiig character that needs to be retired.

The Reba Cameo and the doorbell skit were the only parts I thought were funny.

I work with a lot of young (and older) women who are Twihards....so seeing Taylor Lautner (who plays Jacob in Twilight) playing a girl who loves Edward and aruguing his virtues...priceless! :D

"Notebooks are for writing, not for kissing" :p

I am sure all his fans are disappointed that he didn't take his shirt off...bummer!

Kanye:"Thanks for putting my head back on!"

The cold open would have been lots funnier without the slate and explanation at the beginning. And Lautner missing Kayne twice with his foot and resorting to a punch was pretty funny.

But the instant I saw YAAKWC (Yet Another Annoying Kristin Wiig Character) I fast forwarded thru that skit. Thankfully that was her only appearance!

The lame cold open used up all of my patience and I ended up fast forwarding through most of this... Kenan Thompson gave me a few laughs as Reba and then in the yogurt sketch.

I think I set a new record for FFing through SNL this week. I'd swear I was done with the whole show in < 10 minutes.

    As usual, I disagree.

I actually laughed aloud a couple of times (mostly at the PGA sketches). Nothing hugely special, but still, I did laugh aloud.

But count me as very disappointed there was no appearance by Jon Bovi. We love those guys in our house.

Jenny Slate makes a really convincing teenager. Especially in the glee club sketch.

SNL is one of the few scripted shows that I actually watch faster than realtime on my non-Tivo recorder. Usually I use that only for news/reality(*)/talk shows. It makes SNL more entertaining.

(*) I realize they're scripted to a certain level, but you get the idea.

I think the problem with Wiig's characters is they're all played too similar in tone and manner. Even though they're different it feels like I'm watching the same one over and over again. So I end up feeling like I'm overloaded on every individual character even though I'm probably not. It's like the pop band that keeps churning out songs that have different words but sound exactly alike.

She needs to break some new ground.

I thought the Wonderful World of Love sketch was hilarious. The PGA spots were good too. Everything else was pretty meh.

Oh, one thing I meant to post here about this episode -
Am I the only one who noticed that Taylor Lautner's neck looks like his head got caught in a taffy puller at some point? It was strange-enough looking that I did an actual double-take during the waving goodbye scene at the end. I was afraid that maybe there was some kind of weird distortion going on with my DLP.

I can't say that I specifically noticed that, but he definitely is a weird looking dude in general.
