Not really loving Jim Carey as Joe Biden. There are too many other impressions coming out besides just Joe.

I wouldn't consider Van Halen metal.

You like Jazz guitar obviously. Not my cup of tea, both have their merits and both have their degree of difficulty.

He's kind of a disaster. I think some of the timing issues of the show are tied to his scene-chewing.

I liked him last week. This week didn't work as well. I think it's too soon to tell.

I don't know what metal is, then. I've heard that some of these bands are considered metal by some and not others.

There was a time when I thought "Halen" was Dutch for Hell. That's what so many of these metal bands (or bands you don't think are metal) sing about. One of their hits was "Running with the Devil".

And there you go, you are having the impression of Metal and harder rock that uninformed people like Tipper Gore did in the 1990s. There's only a small portion of bands that are Satan worshippers. Most sing about the same things that all rock band sing about, girls, cars, partying, love, breakups. Same stuff that Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and on up sang about. A few were political. A few sung about other thins. But generally, metal is a heavy guitar sound more than anything. Van Halen was more melodic than most metal bands.

The blue guitar Jack White was playing - Eddie Van Halen special ordered it to custom specs as a gift for Jack White. The music they were playing drew from different genres but they could have been best described as a Blues power trio.

Yep, they sounded like a modern version of Cream.

Running With The Devil is about the devil about as much as Meat Loaf.

Got it. So AC/DC isn't singing about Hell either?

With all this talk about food, I should mention I like Bread.

I'm looking forward to the Joe Biden: Pet Detective skit.

In the same context that Halloween is about Hell. You take it all much too literally and seriously, but it sounds like you may be prejudicially afraid of Halloween too. And horror movies. Here's a spoiler alert: when you go to an Alice Cooper concert and his head gets chopped off in a guillotine, it's really not Alice's or anyone else's severed human head that's rolling around on the stage floor.

Not really necessarily anywhere near that long. Adam Corolla has been going to Texas and doing gigs (I'm still in I think July or early August episodes). He also said he expected the time off would affect him a lot, but said it really didn't. Yeah I realize it could affect others differently.

funny thing is, one of my tivos had the old data, one had the new. so I ended up recording it on the one that had good data (at 11:30) even though I had already seen it at 8:30 (live PST last few years usually). just so I could download & save the musical performances with good guide data.

I like the First Agnostic Church of Hope and Wonder version that Todd Snider has been playing on Sundays lately.

Really? That to me made it 100% clear that it was scripted.
