I have a Bose Lifestyle 20. To get the TIVO remotes to work I had to enable IR on the bose system. On the Bose remote you press system, remote control tab, and then scroll down to the bottom to IR Control (turn "on"). The Bose remote uses RF so the TIVO remote cannot learn from the bose remote. You have to get the TIVO remote to search codes instead.

On the remote I held the TIVO button and mute button. Then I typed 1999. Then I pushed the channel up button a hundred times until it found the bose code. Works great now. I have programmed multiple remotes like this (Slide and Glow).

Volume up, Volume down, and mute on the remote will now control the Bose system.

You have to turn on the BOSE "IR control" on the Bose system. The remote will still remain in Blutooth mode.

Oh, okay. And when the remote is in Bluetooth mode, it will still control the Bose via IR? I thought it could send commands by one or the other, not both.
