Was Katrina lying when she said he was free of the horseman? What did he see outside the window at the end?

It wasn't outside, it was the refection of his wife's back in the window. (minus him, of course) Spooooky...

So the critters from "Pandorum" were protecting Thomas Jefferson's hologram. Ok.

Agreed but she didn't need to take Abby with her. :D Fun times for Abby in the 18th century.

I really like where they went with the episode and that we get to end the season next week in the flip of where we started the series, I had a feeling they were going there when I saw Abby come to the road, then the carriage went by and I just knew that was what they went for.

It took far too long, but I do think they have finally got a bit of their mojo back, but with only 1 episode left I'm not sure they can get a strong enough showing to get a third season approved. (unless it was and I missed it.)

Kinda sucks? No, she sucks big time. I was kind of hoping that Henry had her under some sort of spell. That would explain her 180 degree villain turn. I've pretty much never liked the character but at least she wasn't evil. Why Abbie would chase after her instead of kicking her in the ass as an extra boost through the portal is beyond me. That time travel twist should prove interesting though.

I just hate witches in tv shows, period. It's ok when they only do small, "believable" spells but the writers always end up giving them too much power and things get ridiculous. Katrina now has balls of blue lightning coming from her hands. Witches are like tv computer hackers. Apparently, they can do anything.

Just what we need - another "let's go back in time and prevent the future from being changed too much" episode. Hopefully, they don't stoop to something like having 2015 Ichabod start to fade away unless 1781 Abby can stop the returned Katrina from killing 1781 Ichabod, but then, wouldn't 1781 Ichabod still have to be killed by the Headless Horseman and then both of them put under some sort of spell, as otherwise he wouldn't come back to life in 2013?

I don't think this is intended to be the series finale, as I would expect Fox to advertise it as such. Assuming a Season 3 is planned, it seems obvious that they're going to play to the fanbase and turn it into The IchAbby Show (they even referred to "The Sleepyheads" in the voiceover during Gotham's closing credits right before the episode started), and never mind how spectacularly this crashed and burned when they tried turning House into Huddy, MDs.

What might just work: keeping Abby in the 18th Century, and have the show about how she and Ichabod fight crime in that era. It would also allow for more "cameos" by historical figures without having to find ways to bring them into the 21st Century, or just through flashbacks.

I tend to agree with her.

The character has been floundering this season as if the writers couldn't figure out what to do with her once she was released from Purgatory.

It became patently obvious when they had her do the sudden turn to evil.
Other than Kent's line about the darkness within her", there was no foundation laid for that.

I didn't buy into her suddenly working with Henry and I certainly didn't buy her suddenly deciding to go back in time to kill Ichabod.

It's possible the writers can redeem themselves in the season finale but considering how they've been floundering this season, I'm doubtful.

Really disappointed in how the writing just imploded this season.

I agree that they need to step it up (or back) to Season 1 quality to keep me interested in Season 3.

Last night's episode was decent though. The mother/son allegiance was interesting but should have happened earlier in the season, IMO. A coven helped win the Revolutionary War and Sleepy Hollow is filled with witches -- really?

I was glad to see Henry taken out resulting in a Frank comeback-- a soul that was sold "accidentally" was released. Good.

However...At the point of Henry's demise, I was thinking at the screen, "the bell -- The Bell -- SHOOT AT THE BELL". Annoying.

Abby's comment, "This is wrong on so many levels " in the 18th century made me chuckle.

I hope it is renewed but I'm not fond of the witch theme. Too bad Katrina is a witch.

With what? Both of Ichabod's "Greek Fire"-loaded guns had been used - the first shot was aimed at the bell, but stopped in midair by Henry, which allowed the second shot, which was aimed at him, to get through.

That's right -- only one shot per gun. Now less annoyed.

Even so, someone could have tried to produce fire some other way, or run for something, instead of just standing around wasting their moment.

But definitely hoping that Abbie in the past proves to be more than a one-episode stunt, and becomes a way to revitalize the show.
