I'm thinking if there is ever a show I should re-watch before starting season 2, it's gotta be Westworld. For those of you that have begun season 2, would you agree? I'm very excited to start the new season, but I fear that I will have forgotten so much stuff that may be important. It's an incredibly complex show with a lot of characters and subplots.

    I rewatched 8,9 & 10 and in hindsight, I only really
    needed to re-watch ep10.
This re-cap (S1 Spoilers!) was also good:

Coincidentally, it does have some similarities with Lost!

I had planned to rewatch Season 1 since I bought the S1 UHD BD set last year on sale. But I never got around to it. But the S1 recap, before S2E1 started, was enough to jog my memory for most things.

I watched the 4K discs when they came out.

This "Cram It" summary was also very good (S1 spoilers obviously). It's what I used in lieu of re-watching. :) I had forgotten a lot!

Slightly OT, I was looking for a recap video for The Handmaid's Tale S1. Could not find one. Anyone seen one?

I just started re-watching. I'd say it is worth it. Just knowing which scenes go with which timelines helps tie things together. (It was kind of like re-watching Lost -- things that were very confusing the first time make so much more sense the second time.)

That makes me feel better about all the things I apparently missed, from a week-long binge session. :)

I watched the first episode of season 2, relying on just their S1 recap at the beginning of the episode. But I probably should have re-watched the S1 finale, or at least one of the recaps.

I'm not sure if it's the Cram It one linked above, but I saw mentions elsewhere of at least one recap that also puts things in order chronologically. That might be useful as well, perhaps adding more big-picture understanding than only rewatching the S1 finale. So I should try to watch/rewatch *something* at least before the season continues.

There are also some podcasts about it that I find helpful, for things that I missed, and interesting discussion of the show.

Well, I loved Season 1, so would say yes. Anthony Hopkins alone is worth it.

Binge Mode did a two-part recap of S1, with the first week covering episodes 1-5 and the second week covering episodes 6-10. If you listen faster than 1x, you can get through both of those in under two hours and that should refresh your memory of S1 pretty well.

Also, Decoding Westworld had a S2 preview that was mostly a recap of S1 that was helpful.

I finally got my wife to start watching a couple days ago, 3 episodes Tuesday night, 4 episodes last night. I've already seen the series twice, but still picking up new things on this third watch

I decided to re-watch the entire first season. I finished last night and started season 2. I'm glad I re-watched it. There was a lot of stuff I had forgotten, especially some of the smaller details.

    I'll need to re-watch both seasons in 2020 before season 3 :)

I loved season one but gave up part way thru season two. The time shifting was too much and didn't make as much sense as when they did it with LOST.

I liked season 1, but S2 got a little too weird for me.

I'm thinking that S2 would be more clear after binge-watching rather than waiting a week between episodes.
