I hope this new found interest in ratings doesn't affect other shows on Friday nights. You know, the one with cylons and humans.

    vancouver is being dismantled?

I wonder when the next spin off will be? Stargate, Ori 2010.

I hope they dont do a 'star trek' on this series.

Hmm, just when they got brave enough to start a new "arc". Sounds like they'll have to scramble to tie up the whole Ori storyline, since for once they were planning on having another year...

They could divert the Ori storyline to Atlantis somehow and even allow for a lot more guest appearances of SG-1 members on Atlantis. It would be kind of nice to have the actual SG-1 team in Atlantis at this point.

I'm convinced getting rid of jack and adding hair to our former bald friend was the true demise of this show.

shep has done a remarkable job of the jack-isms though. He must have watched a lot of the previous seasons and I assume they have the same writers?

The whole time I was watching the 200th episode I was thinking to myself, "They've cancelled Stargate."

That whole 'milestone' episode was specifically poking fun at the series and ridiculing the people who watch it, especially the ones who "brought Daniel back from the 'dead'". They even poked fun at the Farscape viewers who tuned in to see if Ben Browder and Claudia Black could bring some measure of sophistication back to the show.

In my opinion the show has become too campy and self-deprecating to continue and lacks the characteristics that brought it to popularity and continue to serve Atlantis well. I will miss the old Stargate, but good riddance to bad rubbish.

    My message for the people who produced the 200th episode;

If you don't want to do the show anymore, quit. But don't phone in second rate work and then poke fun at people who continue to watch it. It lacks class.

I really question where it would end up. Showtime dumped the show years ago, so they would be out and I don't think that HBO would grab it. And lately Sci-Fi is refusing to even show sci-fi by putting ECW and WWE on instead of actual shows. Where do others think the show will end up?

I personally will be disappointed if they start bringing SG1 folks over to SGA. Esp Daniel or the Farscape people.

I might even stop watching SGA because of it. I stopped watching SG1 for a reason, it had gone from genius to junk. And as much as I love John Crichton (lets face it he IS john crichton in SG1 and noone can tell me otherwise) I do NOT want him or any others coming over to SGA and cross polluting it.

imho this would simply make SGA another SG1 episode each week and that is bad. bad. bad.

They can't really afford to add several new main characters to Stargate Atlantis cast.

But if some of these guys are willing to go for a recurring role, then there's a possibility. I can particularly see it for Michael Shanks.

So is it possible to get the original episodes as they aired on Showtime?

Easy for the writers, but expensive for the producers. Since the characters of Daniel (and Jack) were from the original movie, there's a non-insignificant royalty cost associated with using them.

That's why of all the SG1 characters that appeared on the Atlantis pilot, Jack and Daniel were absent.

"In fact, what they need to do is watch both SG-1 and Atlantis LIVE and make sure the ratings stay strong."

I like the emphasis on the "LIVE"... as if it's TiVo's fault they're getting bad ratings...

What the hell are you talking about? Jack & Daniel WERE the only SG1 members that were present in the pilot...
