Service update... locked up?

    I've been a TiVo user for over 4 years. Today, I turned on the tv to see...

    "Preparing the service update. This may take up to an hour, possibly longer."

    I've never seen this screen before.

    However, it's been that way for 2+ hours. Is it locked up? Is there something I can/should do?

    It's been longer then 4 hrs (update reboots happen automatically around 2AM) unplug the TiVo wait a minute then plug it back in and hope for the best.

    Question: Is this the original TiVo or an upgraded storage capacity drive? The model of TiVo might be useful too.

    I'd wait another hour or so before pulling the plug on the TiVo and rebooting it.
    There IS an update (if you want to be generous) being rolled out.

    Thank you both for your replies.

    It's an original TiVo - Series 2 (80 hr). I did eventually unplug it and it seems to be ok now.

    As for the update, I like the look of the old guide a wee bit better.
