I am considering switching to Verizon FIOS. I currently have 2 Series2's, one a single tuner and the other a dual tuner. I know that I will have to connect through a STB, either serially or with IR blaster, and will lose functionality of one of the tuners in the DT.

My question is whether the DT is smart enough to know that only one tuner has an input source and will not attempt to schedule programming using the 2nd non-functional one?

    Thanks.

I believe you can tell it that only a single tuner is available in Guided Setup. I know this was true with DirecTiVos.

Does the FIOS set-top-box/converter/whatever it is that they give you output a Channel 3 or 4 analog RF signal, the way VCRs originally did, or video and 2 channel audio from yellow, white, and red line out jacks, or both?

    Thanks, @wmcbrine.

@unitron - I'm not sure about your question as I have not yet subscribed yet.
