I'm moving to a new area and have a Series 2 Dual Tuner.

Which works better with the Tivo: U-Verse or a Comcast with a digital adapter or cable box? I have the IR Blaster already. I heard both are pains to set up. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Well, the only way you can record two shows at the same time with that TiVo is Comcast and set top box, not a DTA. You could record one digital and one analog or two analog channels.

Not on one TiVo 2. No analog on U-Verse.

You can record any two of the three sources with a DTA if you run the DTA through a VCR as a RF to composite tuner. Doing that on two Series 2s. You still only get the basic channels.

On the other hand with UVerse you can record from any one of all of the channels, even premium channels. I'll be adding that soon.

So basically, your TiVo thinks the DTA/VCR combo is an STB.

Still can't record two u-verse channels at once on one TiVo 2.

Are you planning to have both u-verse and Comcast or are you going to use your TiVo 3s and the Premiere for strictly OTA?

No need for a VCR. If you run guided setup and tell the Tivo you have both cable and satellite, You can then select RF input for the DTA and composite for satellite. Once guided setup is complete, go to channels and select both lineups are incorrect, then reselect that you only receive cable.

How does he not need a VCR? How is he supposed to get composite to the TiVo?
