I wonder if Cablevision will let users use it.

The service fee will most likely stay the same. It is the upfront costs that has everyone nervous.

What is your cutoff price for buying an S3?

You mean the price of the box? They might charge like $350.

They might, and then again, they might not. It is all wild speculation at this point.

Expect it in time for the holiday season, i.e. between late September and late October.

I'm betting on $750 for the box.

I'm hoping for $499 or less.

Really, really hoping. If it's $499 or less, then I can dump DirecTV sooner than later. If it's more, I'll be forced to wait. :(

    Here's hoping.

It would really be best for Tivo to get this out by late September. In November, many households are going to be spending the disposable income they have on the PS3.

No way that son of yours is going to let you buy a Tivo instead of the PS3 once it's out. And most SOs aren't going to let you spend another $600 on the Tivo after you've already spent $700 on a PS3. :( The only chance you have is to buy that $500 Series3 well before your son starts blabbing about the PS3, day and night.
