Series 2 worked for 5 yrs, suddenly no sound

    My system info:

    Tivo Brand Series 2
    Software: 8.3-01-2-140
    Cable box
    JVC TV

    Everything has worked fine for 5 years. I have lifetime service. Suddenly (right in time for all the new premiers) I have no sound on my TIVO input. That includes sound effects on the tivo itself, sound for watching live tv, and watching recorded programs. I checked and switched out all the wires. They are all fine. Am I screwed?

    yes. Restarted several times. No effect.

    It could be the fault of the TV's input hardware. If you have Tivo ToGo, send a recently recorded show to your PC and see if there is sound.

    Or hook up a dvd player or vcr to the TV (to the jacks where you currently have the tivo plugged in) and see if you get audio.
