Anyone tried to use this Linksys Gigabit USB connector (USB1000) with a Series 2 TIVO?

    Thanks,

Just for grins I tried an AirLink Gigabit/USB adaptor, and it did not work.

It won't work, as TiVo needs a driver for it. Plus, with the a USB2.0 100bt adapter, it doesn't fully utlize that even, so there is no point.

There are drivers available for the airlink adapter, just not from tivo.

Classicsat is right that there is no point, unless you are able to enable jumbo frames. With jumbo frames enabled, there is a performance boost, due to less overhead with fewer, larger ethernet frames [reference]. I routinely get 5-6MB/sec in MRV transfers, which is about double what I used to get with 100mbps adapters.
