    New Port...
I'm running a Humax serie 2 machine and have had it networked for quite some time. And on every occasion that I've had to get it up and running I have had horrendous problems. This time my Tivo sees the SSID of the router but keeps giving me an error saying it doesn't see the router, router is set to broadcast SSID and issue DHCP IP addresses. Security is disabled while trying to fix this problem. The router is a Verizon FIOS Ultraline Series 3 Model 9100M. Talked to tech spt and they are researching! Any help from this avenue would be greatly appreciated.

Give your TiVo a fixed IP address.* Can't hurt, might help. Power cycle both TiVo and router.

*If you don't need DHCP for anything else on your home network, disable router's ability to hand out DHCP addresses.

This may be overwhelmingly obvious, but......

Sometimes you can correct these problems by running the Tivo guided setup.

FYI, i have had similar problems any time I changed my internet setup..... e.g., changing from one service provider to a different one, etc.
