Those are SDV channels. You'll need the TA to get them.

But it's working now? I'm definitely on a different node than you, but it might be a problem common to several nodes.

I can't get A&E HD either. And my TA is working perfectly otherwise. Goofy.

Speaking of the TA, Combat Medic can you test if NASA TV is copy protected? It's on channel 241. It's a SDV channel.

'Sounds like it may require a truck roll. I've got them coming out Tuesday anyway to take a look at TNTHD (the truck roll is really unnecessary, but I'm going to be home anyway, and it was easier than arguing with the CSR on the phone). I'll have them take a look at A&E and Palladium, while they're at it. I'll take names and post the results.

I'll check, but I can already guess. They seem to be "protecting" everything. I've sent eMails to TNT, Discovery, and Food because Time Warner claims they are doing it at the request of the content provider but I doubt that.

I got the letter and was excited to get the TA, but need to get the cable cards again. I have been told they won't let me pick them up, since they have to be installed. That is fine, no problem...until they told me it would cost $48.56 for the install!

I had them installed originally about 6 months ago and I think it was free. I returned them since there was no TA available at the time, but what is with the $48 charge??? Anyone else pay this to have a guy show up, put two cards in a slot, and make a phone call? Ridiculous...

Back when I first installed my Cable Card I was able to just pickup the M-Card at the 410 location.

This is unsupported, but someone confirmed in another thread that you can use the TA instead of cablecards...

The TA does not do any decryption. I guess you could use the TA without cable cards to get any SDV channels that are in the clear, but you won't get anything that is encrypted.

You can pick up cable cards at the san pedro/blanco location ONLY. They have the TA there too. Need both. only problem i have is no 128 or 134. Everything else works.

Oh. And when I picked up the TA they told me that they will ONLY give them to people with cable cards.

I got them to waive the fee twice. I don't think they charged me the third time. The fourth time I had to pay

I went to the San Pedro location at 12:30. They let me have 3 TAs without argument, although the CSR did seem a little stunned when I asked for 3. She said after I took my 3 there were only 2 left! They received 50, and 48 were gone by lunch time. Oddly, she said the Callaghan store had only issued 2 units.

I'm seeing the same thing some of you are: no A&E HD and no Palladia. They are rolling a truck this afternoon. Is anyone with a TA able to get either channel?

Most cable operators offer "inline wiring protection" (a monthly fee to your cable bill around $5). Wouldn't such a fee cover a truck roll to bring out a cable card and install it into a TiVo machine? After all, it's an essential element needed to complete the "wiring" for the reception, right? Even if it's not a wire? One could add this service long enough for the truck roll and after the cable card(s) are installed cancel it having saved over $40 and spending only $5, the way I see it. The point is, having this service allows truck rolls to one's residence gratis.

Im wondering this as well. If NO one gets it, then they can't say its a line level issue.

It can't be a line level issue. I don't get those two and the tech that was at my house a week ago said the levels to my TiVo are perfect.
