I have a Series2 Samsung DVR. I'm experiencing random freeze ups and reboots. Can't even get through 1 recorded show without it rebooting or freezing completely up and I have to unplug to restart. Can I pull the hard drive and run Seatools on it without destroying the programing on the drive? I have over 100 hours of recording on it and would hate to loose it all. I need to make sure its the drive or possibly the power supply doing it.

    Thanks
    Patrick

Also is there a way to force the DVR to run it's own diagnostic program?

Yes, you should be able to run the drive diagnostics without affecting the Tivo data on that drive. Most likely it is indeed a hard drive problem.

Well, it looks like it may be fixed. I remember a while ago reading something about software acting up when going above 30 Season Passes. I deleted 5 season passes since I had 35. So far so good..

Well I thought it may have been fixed. Last night I ran into same problem.
I just ran Seatools on the disk and everything came out ok. Any other possibilities?

    Thanks

My samsung froze last night and my hughes rebooted at the same time. First time they did that in a while. My r15 worked fine, no freezing.

What software version are you running on your Tivo? I have a HDVR2 and have almost 60 season passes with no problems!
