I cannot tune channels that tested fine using diagnostics
Is there a site that explains the CableCard readouts?
To make a long story short, ysterday Comcast tried to update the Cablecards that have been working fine for 3 years and 10 months. The first one, the Cablecard in slot 2 hung.
During troubleshooting they ended up with a new card in slot 1 and the old slot 1 card in slot 2. Slot 1 works fine. Slot 2 works on unencrypted channels, but not encrypted ones. I pointed out that the slot 2 Auth status said that CP authorization has not been received. Neither the tech nor the guy on the other end of his knew anything about that setting, confirming my belief of the low state of training they send these poor guys out into the field with.
My bet is that they didn't update the old slot 1 card with the slot 2 host ID or did it incorrectly. Although the tech thinks they he never verified the number and of course I'm only the stupid customer with no way to do this.
