S3 OTA can't receive program guide

    About once every week or ten days I connect my laptop to my S3 via ethernet cable and download the programming guide. It's worked fine for over a year until today. Has something changed at Tivo or is the system down?

    Here’s what I see:
    preparing to connect…
    preparing…
    (No DHCP server)

    Here’s what I did:
    Let the DVR assign itself a DHCP address

    Result:
    (No DHCP server)

    This wouldn't have anything to do with the TiVo services but with your network connection to the laptop. The TiVo is not getting an IP address so could be an issue with how the laptop is issuing IP addresses with network sharing or a bad network cable. You can try assigning a static IP address in the correct subnet that your laptop would issue instead (and verify you can ping it from the laptop).

    Ok, I got it figured out and it's working as it should again. Pilot error.
