Have three tivos, purchased different times, two series 2, one toshiba with dvd,
over last several all three are having the S03 error. One is now stuck on the powering up screen after several complete power down.

    Anybody heard of this?.

    Thank You

You can try what's suggested here:

and if you're using a tuning adapter, check these threads

    I have 3 Tivos also - all series 2, one a Humax.
2 of them (not the Humax) have not been able to connect since Nov 14, 2011 & Nov 22, 2011 (note same date as first poster.) It seems like this must be related to an update around then? I've had all of these tivos for YEARS with no problems & 2 have a problem within a week of each other. I'll try the links mentioned, but it kind of seems like Tivo sent something unpleasant to my Tivo!!

If they're Series 2s, they haven't been updated in several years.

The problem most likely isn't your TiVos, but TiVo's servers.

This is at least the third year in a row that Series 1 TiVo's have had problems connecting at this time of year, and apparently the problem "spills over" into the newer models as well.

Are they calling in over the phone line or internet?

I am using the internet, not the phone- one with a TIVO USB adapter & one with a linksys(?) adapter that TIVO recommended.
I tried the kickstart on my non-HUMAX TIVO, but that didn't seem to do it - still the same SO3 error.
Tech support says its a bad hard drive, but that just doesn't feel right since it happened to 2 TIVOs within such a short time!

    Try Kickstart 58 on them.

But first, can you hook a phone line up to them temporarily?

If so, go into settings-phone and network and change over to phone and see if you can get through that way.

    How is that Humax connecting?
