Just purchased new 4K TV. Not sure if my Romio Pro purchased in 2014 supports 4K.
Am I missing out on anything? The picture looks great and I have lifetime service with it that I would hate to give up.
    Thanks for any advice.

    A Roamio only supports 1080, not 4K
But honestly it's not worth worrying about unless you have a cable system with some 4K QAM content, as far as streaming goes, you're better off buying a cheap streaming device.

If it's a 'NEW' that has 'on-board' apps I'd try those before buying a thing. Your TV dependent on brand/model should reasonably upscale your Roamio to keep you happy with the usual 'broadcast content'.

This is what I do. I have a Roamio hooked up to a fairly new Sony 4K. But Comcast doesn't have any 4k content that I'm aware of, so the Roamio is fine, and the Sony upscaling looks really good. And for streaming, I use the smart TV apps (Sony is Android TV). They're all 4K, and look great!

I also have an older TV with crappy apps, so I use a Roku on that.

Yeah if cable ever broadcast 4k it might be worth it to move on from Roamio, but no one has done that.

I would imagine Comcast will only have 4K IP channels.
