I have Roamio Pro and does not that skip feature under User Preference.
What software version is running on your Roamio?
The Pro is so different than my Roamio I don't even know where to find that information!
If you hit the TiVo button on your Roamio Pro, is the main screen blue or black, and is it labeled TiVo Central or TiVo Home?
Yes - under Tivo Central Settings and Messages under User Preference there is no link to Skipmode and I see no link for Tivo information. I sure like the Roamio better than Roamio Pro.
If they’re running the same software versions, the Roamio and Roamio Pro are identical.
Since you had Skipmode previously you must have been running v21 (TE4) of the TiVo software.
The new Pro seems like it’s running v20 (TE3) which should look VASTY different than what you’re used to.
You’ll need to upgrade the Pro.
“TiVo Central” indicates that the Roamio Pro is running the older TE3/Encore user interface (software branch 20.*) ... which doesn’t support automatic commercial skip. On TE3, you have to manually trigger the skip, for eligible, marked content, using either the green “D” button or the Channel Up button.
You need to upgrade the Roamio Pro to “The New Experience” (TE4/Hydra; sw vers 21.*) for access to automatic commercial skip.
So... to circle back and verify ... what do you see on the main screen on your “Roamio” when you hit the TiVo button ... a blue or black screen, and “TiVo Central” or “TiVo Home”?

It’s moot, now, but the upgrade option should have been available to you the whole time, under “Apps.”
