I have two TiVo Roamio Pros, on two TV's. Connected with HDMI.

    They work great !

Anyhow, I just bought a LIFETIME Roamio on eBay for about $300. Very pleased.

I'm setting it up on one TV. I reset it to factory; called TiVo and they transferred it to my account. No sweat.

Then I brought it to the other TV, where I want it, but NO VIDEO !

It is ON; the lights even flash with the Remote.

I unplugged it, plugged the other Roamio Pro in, and all works.

Then plugged in the LIFETIME one again - nothing.

    I'm baffled.

    SOLVED - sort of

I trued a different HDMI Cable and all is well.

But the original HDMI Cable works fine with the other Roamio Pro.

Could be set to output a resolution the TV doesn't support.

    Nah.

There's a little button on the back of the Roamio Pro to manually force different resolutions. That had no effect when there was no video.

There are several HDMI flavors, and apparently some Roamio's are particular.

Though none of the HDMI Cables I have are marked as to version :(

I guess the answer is to just try another HDMI Cable, even if you have one that works on another TiVo..

The one that works with the new Lifetime TiVo appears to be thicker with more gold plating. Mebe the other one was marginal ?

Did you go back to the original TV that worked and test it again?

I removed the old HDMI Cable that provided no video with my Roamio Pro Lifetime, and tried it with a different Roamio Pro on a different TV, and the old HMDI cable works there, too.

It seems that HDMI Cable has a problem with just one Roamio Pro and no other.

    It's odd.

I expect there is a minute mal-adjustment between a contact or two on just that HDMI Cable, and that Roamio Pro.

Within specs for other units, but just enough to cause difficulty in that one situation.

(I have similar situations between different Cell Phones in my Family and different Mini-USB Cables. Some work well together; others don't.)
