Watching live TV seems to be an issue right now.

In the middle of a show, the screen will go black, then the screen will come back on with the show. Then, it will randomly do it again.

If I reboot it seems to fix the problem for a while, but then it starts doing it again.

My other Tivos are not having this issue, so I don't think it is a cable issue, it is only this Tivo.

    Reboot, then rerun Guided Setup.

Well, now the black screen isn't coming on anymore, but it is sputtering and freezing now. ARGH!

    Suggestions?

Well, never mind. It is doing it again. I have called the cable company and they are going to send a reboot on their end. I will see if that helps.

If you rewind, does it replicate or does it fix the issue?

    In the ATL
Signal issue or bad drive would be my guess. You can go into Diagnostics and see what the levels are for your tuned channels.

I think it may have been the reception from cable. I reset the entire cable box and they sent out a new signal and I reseat the Tivo at the same time and that seems to have fixed the issue.

    Thank you!

Cable box? You cannot use the cable box unless its a Series 2. You have to have a cable card.

It has both. There are channels I don't get without the box.

You must remove the cable box from the Roamio because it cannot use it for all of the tuners.

You say you do not get all the channels without the box? You still can, if your cableCo uses a tuning adapter for Switched Digital Video (SDV), that is how you can access the rest of the channels instead of a cable box. All of the tuners would work again.

Oh crud, I think that is what it is, a tuning adapter, not a cable box. Sorry.

A tuning adapter is plugged into a USB port while a cable box does not.
