I have a Roamio Plus (TCD848000). I’ve used for years with a cablecard, now cutting the cord. Am I reading this forum right that my TiVo can’t be used with just an HD antenna in the coax jack but no Cablecard?

Is there any workaround? Or any alternative to either buying a new TiVo or giving up on TiVo (or paying for cable service forever)? Thanks

Looking at Google it looks go be cable only, no OTA.

May want to buy the Amazon Fire device that is a good OTA DVR option from what I'm hearing.

Nope. You have 6 tuners, but no antenna ability.

By any chance, do you have Lifetime on your Roamio+? If so, you could sell it, getting a decent price, and purchase a Roamio OTA box (comes with Lifetime), or a Bolt OTA box and purchase Lifetime at its lower Bolt OTA price.*

    * One thing to note: the Bolt OTA box cannot be set up to use the TE3 user interface, if that is your preference.

    FYI
weaknees.com has a sale now on the Roamio OTA Lifetime. $249.99

Personally, I'd trust a purchase from WeaKnees or TiVo itself more, coming with warranty protection.
