I tried searching for the answer to my question (and it's been awhile since I've been tooling around here) but I just noticed something on all 4 of my 10-250's: Am I the only one who no longer has a "repeat" connotation on onscreen info for sitcoms/dramas on network TV?? For example, when I check my folders recently for 30 Rock, Till Death, Conan, Leno, the L&O's that I have on season passes, NONE of the episodes from the last few weeks say "repeat" in the on-screen info for 2007 shows. My wife noticed it, as we were trying to figure out if we'd missed any season premiere's recently.

I'm in the NYC area---so is it a guide data related issue for NYC....or did Tivo drop the "repeat" from the guide data for series' recently? I've rebooted within the last week BTW.....

I have also noticed that "repeat" is missing from the data. The guide data is obtained from Tribune Media Services, so they are the ones that are passing the data from the content providers. They could also have removed that themselves.

I have also noticed that instead of "HDTV" in the description, it is now "High Def". I wonder if these two changes occurred at the same time.

I just checked the Zap2It.com website and noticed that they are using "New" in the descriptions. I checked the original air date for Dave Letterman tonight (last month) and there is no "new" on the website. My SP didn't schedule it because of the 28 day rule.

Yes, I too noticed the "High-Def" designation as well. I was going to try and search through the guide with a "High Def" wishlist to see if it picked that up...but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I just set up a Tivo HD for my Dad during a weeklong visit, and I was frustrated in finding where in the guide info Tivo indicated whether a program was new or repeat...

So I come here and start to write a post about what I'm missing, and up comes this thread about this subject from last year...I gather it's not ME that's missing something, but Tivo is!

    UNBELIEVABLE

We have THREE different digital recording units in my house (2 used for OTA and 1 Comcast), and the guides ALL have this info!!!

How does Tivo deal with a season pass if it's also reecording all the repeats from previous seasons!!! Who wants to fill up the hard drive with stuff you've already seen??? (SciFi channel is notorious for causing this kind of problem...)

So am I still missing something? Is is true there's no new vs repeat indicator???

I believe the TiVo uses the "Original Air Date" for determining if a program is a repeat for the purposes of selecting programs to record. The problem is that, AFAIK, the only way to display OAD is by using Display to get Program Details when on the Program screen for a recording. There should be a way to get the details from a guide entry. On a HR2x, I don't think there is any way to see OAD even though it must be in the guide data.

Actually the HR21 displays the OAD in the Info but apparently this tag is not used in determining whether or not to record something. Its pretty irritating to set up a Series to record new shows only but shows keep getting recorded with OAD in 2004 or earlier.
