My OTA Roamio remote has been working for 3 years without this problem. About 4 weeks ago it stopped controlling the volume of my Yamaha A/V receiver, otherwise it faction normal. All my other remotes work controlling the A/V volume. The amber light on the Roamio light up when I use the remote volume button.

I replaced the AA batteries and started the reprograming process. Now here the problem, no matter what code I use the remote is controlling the LG TV. I can make up any four digit code and it still controls the TV. Its like it stuck on some code for LG and won't erase it.

Have to use other remotes for the volume when watching the TiVo on the TV. Like I said everything works otherwise just the volume for the A/V. Other than replacing the TiVo remote, or living with it as is, are there options ? Any secrets buttons to reset the remote ?

Thanks for the info. I was able to reset the remote and repair it to the TiVo. But so far no luck with the Yamaha volume. (IIRC) The first time I set it up it took one of the first 5 codes listed for it. So the code 1028 may have been the one that worked for me than. I keep trying and LYK if I'm successful.

I'm thinking the Yamaha A/V receiver is IR, and my TiVo's remote IR lamp is not working.
All my other remotes are RF and going thru my Harmony Hub, which is both IR and RF.

That would mean the TV power also fails.

Hold the TiVo button down, then hit the "C" until the remote's LED flashes red. That fails too?

    What I know so far.
The TiVo remote will control the LG TV.....So the IR is working on the TiVo remote.
The codes listed for the Yamaha A/V tried so far do not control the Yamaha A/V volume or mute.
The OEM remote for the Yamaha controls the A/V also other remotes do.

Here are the codes for programing the TiVo remote to control the Yamaha A/V I have tried.
    1140 1166 1201 1028 1033 1038 1074 1132 1175 1204 1210 1219 1220 1227 1235 & 1213

It looks like the correct code may be the problem...….any missing from my list ?

    My Roamio has 1236 and not 1213. But like I posted, I use 1028. I'm using a RX-V485 and was using a RX-V876. TE3 and TE4 are the same.

Sometimes I have to do a Global Reset a couple of times before it will accept a new audio code. Then pretty much any of the above should work since most Yamahas from the past few decades use the same codes.
