    Just got fios tv and recorded a program with my TIVO. At the bottom of the screen is a fairly large "status bar" that covers over the entire picture. I never had this when I recorded a COX program. What's this all about and can I get rid of it?

    It sounds like you're using an S1 or S2 along with the FIOS TV STB. If so, you'll need to adjust a setting on the STB so that the channel info panel goes away instantly instead of waiting (which sometimes causes it to stick around forever).

    Thanks, I have noticed that sometimes it stays and sometimes it goes away. Not sure what you mean by S1 or S2. Also, what do I need to do to the STB?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mill Creek,...
    S1 = Series 1 Tivo
    S2 = Series 2 Tivo

    Check your FIOS Receiver's documentation to see if there's a setting to disable the on-screen information panel display.

    I have a series 2.

    I went through everything they gave me and went through the STB setup menu etc., and did not see anything.

    I know TIVO has an adjustment for theirs, but I have not seen anything similar for my motorola 2500.
