    One of my Series 3 boxes has serious problems: several times a day it either spontaneously reboots or locks up in a state where the picture is frozen, the clock stops and the unit won't respond to the remote. I called TiVo a few times, but each time I had to give up after about 2 hours on hold. Is my unit simply a lemon? Is there anything I can do?

    I had this problem, redid the F connector on the coax ran the guided setup again and it's been fine for months now.

    Now, i'm not saying this will fix your issue or that you don't have a lemon. Best action is to call Tivo and get a case number on this so if you do have to send it in for a new one you can.

    Had the same problem on my S3 - continually freezing. Had no problem getting thru to TiVo; they sent me a new S3.

    I had a similar problem. I ran through some tests to see if it was me or the box. It was the box and a new S3 from Tivo resolved the problem.
