Since the show is 40 - 42 minutes of show and 18 - 20 minutes of interruptions (i.e., commercials), it seems that you are suggesting that it is already the perfect length.

There was a really good line about bone marrow donors, but the rest was fairly uninspired. I don't have a bug aversion, but even I was very grossed out. There is a line, and I think they crossed it. I skipped part of the show because of the bugs. You shouldn't drive away your audience. Oh, and you really don't want to try to "fix" a device that was specifically hand-crafted by the evil denizens of the pit of hell. A bad idea.

No, I contrasted it with 30 and 60 minute lengths, so I am clearly suggesting 45 minutes of "TV time" length rather than "actual show time" length.

Actually I thought the bug stuff was pretty mild. They weren't doing much except sitting there (or dog paddling in a mug of beer, which was funny). I'm not sure how you alienate the audience in a show starring the devil... seems like occasional pestilence should be assumed as part of the premise. This show is basically a comedy, but it's clear that it isn't going to shy away from the darker parts of its concept.

This episode was just kind of "there". Alot of this episode felt like they were floundering. The mark of a good episode is one that makes you think, "Wow, where'd the time go?" "All In", however, didn't - at least not for me.

I enjoy Reaper and hope this is just an "off" episode. Hopefully next week's episode, "Magic"...

Sam requests some time off to go to a concert with Andi, but the Devil refuses and points out that vacation periods are not part of his contract. Therefore, Sam is given a white dove as his next vessel and is sent to capture an escaped magician who kills anyone who does not appreciate his act.

will be an improvement and return to form.

Anyone else have trouble hearing the dialogue over the ridiculously obnoxious and constant music?

The show's been losing steam since the pilot, which I didn't find all that exciting anyway. And this episode took away the humor aspect, which is the only thing that made it tolerable for me. SP gone.

If you have audio settings on your TV, and different pre-selects to choose from, usually there's a "voice" setting that helps with that kind of thing. I had no problems hearing the dialog at all.

Yeah, I noticed that in this episode too. Maybe it's only an issue on the HD feed and that's why others haven't noticed. Or perhaps they have their Dolby Digital decoder set to compensate the center channel and don't notice as much? Or you and I are just imagining it.

Agreed. He was born to play this role. I agree, though, this episode was a bit of a let down. Although Julia Anderson's rack (Gloria, the bug woman) is phenomenal! GIS her. At home.

Thanks, that helped. Don't have the episode to compare any more, but the voices on TBS baseball right now are definitely more audible.
