My series 2 Humax TiVo has been running fine with my old NETGEAR router and NETGEAR WG111 wireless adapter for years. However my old router died and I replaced it with a NETGEAR WNDR3400v2 router that uses WPA or WPA2 security and I can no longer connect to the TiVo service. I am pretty sure I need to get a new TiVo wireless G adapter, but before I purchase one I just want to be sure it will be compatible with my router security. Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks in advance,

    Marcus

Doesn't the new router allow you to choose different levels of security or even none at all?

The new router allows WPA, WPA2 or none. I assume I need some sort of security, if i choose none wont my wireless signal be open to all?

The TiVo lets me choose between WEP or WPA but if I choose WPA it says my wireless adapter is not up to it.

I dont mind purchasing the new adapter, I just want to be pretty sure it will work before I pay the cash for it.

    Thanks,

    Marcus

    According to TiVo

You may be able to find one on Craigslist for $30 or less.

As I said, I like it enough that I wish they wrote PC drivers for it.

Maybe it's time to un-pin this thread.
